Vitiligo Support
National and Regional Conferences
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
Wayne: I'd like to thank all the very special people I met at the conference who made it so special. I will have lots of lasting memories and friendships for years to come.
Lisa: IT WAS A WONDERFUL, FUN, INFORMATIVE, AND EXHILARATING EXPERIENCE FOR ME, A NON-VITTIE, SO I KNOW ALL THE VITTIES HAD A GREAT TIME! Everyone should make an effort to get together with other vitties, either at this conference next year, or a regional one near you soon! The togetherness and closeness that everyone felt was amazing - like family! As a parent, I felt such compassion from other parents, as well as from the attendees who have vitiligo. This is a horrible, emotional condition, but there are such wonderful new inroads and discoveries! A cure must be on the horizon.....
Andreas: This conference was in many aspects far the best I've seen during my professional life. And last but not least: The contribution of all the attendees, cooperating, asking, laughing. Good stuff which spurs.
Sterlena: YOU DID A MARVELOUS JOB, I SO ENJOYED IT ALL,CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR. THANKS SO MUCH AND GOD BLESS YOU.
Jose: I cant wait for next year I will be there 2 days before the convention. best time I had in a long time and everyone knew what I was going through and that was a load off.
Carolyn: It meant so much to Alex to be able to meet others "who have spots" as she put it before we left for the conference. To know one is not alone in a struggle brings much relief and understanding. That is what this did for Alex and we so much appreciate that opportunity.
Kristi:Gosh, we need vit meet ups more often, its so refreshing, and gives me energy! I wish I had the energy I have at the end of the conferences for the beginning when I am all shy. By Saturday night I am all hyped, then its time to go home.
Christian: I don't know how you could top this conference for next year! It was sooooo much fun. I was really touched when Dr. Grimes began her presentation and she got emotional. I even gave her a hug at the party Saturday night. I told her how lucky we are to have a doctor like her on our side.
I enjoyed myself so much and made some incredible friends! I actually felt like my old self again before vit. A friend of mine saw my pictures from the conference and thought I looked really HAPPY! I really WAS! First time in a year. Thanks so much. I would STRONGLY encourage others to attend next year.
Lisa: We had a blast at the conference and would encourage everyone to try to attend - it's good for the mind and soul!
Christian: I had so much fun at the conference. It's the first time since I was diagnosed that I could actually relax and be myself. There were people there from all walks of life. It was amazing! I hope you'll be able to attend next year.
Derek: Just wanted to say hi and tell you how much I enjoyed meeting everyone! I really had a great time and can't wait until next year. Thanks to everyone for making this happen and being so kind (and fun)!
Tanja: I've been reliving the CONFERENCE since I've come home - definitely it's been the best one yet. I'm so glad I was able to meet you - the NC crowd was pretty cool! As for the diet -ugh- I'm with Betty - must exercise restraint for the next few weeks to battle the POUNDAGE gained on the conference. No worries however - every bite was worth it - spending 4 days with other vitties completely defines my attitude for the rest of the summer.
Pablo: I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped put together the 2005 Vit conference. In my opinion it was a complete success and as last year, I come home rejuvenated and feeling so much better. Once again, I made, hopefully life lasting friendships and saw old friends that will always be friends.
Sara: I had such a great time this weekend! It was really cool meeting a bunch of other vitties. After awhile, I kind of forgot we all had it.
Michelle: Thank you Vitiligo Support International and all other contributing individuals for the wonderful conference. You all have outdone yourselves. Great location as well!!
I had a great time seeing old friends as well as meeting new ones. Time flew by so fast, I wish I would of had more of a chance to spend time with others.... next conference.
Tracy: Emily and I had a great time at the conference... there is such a kinship among the attendees - it's a beautiful thing to see. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so much a part of the group.
Baldeesh: I just wanted to thank everyone for the fabulous conference!!! =) I had a great time getting to know everyone (I miss you guys already!) It was interesting to talk to people in *real life* as opposed to just online, and putting faces/real people to names... a wonderful opportunity =) I'm already saving up for the next one! I also learned quite a bit from the presentations, quite some good information...
Lori: GREAT JOB to everyone that helped!!!!!! April and I had so much fun, she didn't want it to end. There were so many people this time I didn't have the time to talk to everyone I wanted to. I was so impressed by how far everyone came too...One from New Zealand (great accent!), one from Spain, one from Italy and all parts of the US. The information was the latest and greatest. Dr. Grimes even came to the dance on Saturday night, knowing she would be inundated with questions, and yet she answered each one. One of the doctors commented that this was VERY unusual to have a Dr. of such caliber down with the patients. We are very lucky to have her!! My favorite part was just talking to everyone, Oh and watching the kids play and run around. They had some mean dance moves
Claire: I've been waiting to post a note of "thanks" because I am fearful that I cannot articulate how truly appreciative and thankful i am to have found this community. Without Randy, the board of directors, and everybody else who makes this site possible, the 'tough' commonality of vitiligo that we all deal with, would be that much tougher. I had an amazing time at the conference.... was privileged to be in the presence of top notch doctors, treatment companies, and some of the most compassionate people I have met. I am a big believer in the fact that everybody, every single person out there has a story, has a struggle and something inside that they deal with. I'm sure most of us deal with a number of things in addition to our vitiligo - but this weekend made it possible to be surrounded by people that need no explanation, that understand the same worry and have had similar experiences. There were some strong wills in that room this weekend, and i know there are 100x more of the same strength out there.
Here's to crossing paths with certain people that you're supposed to....
